Carmen, my newest character and first in the lunar elves [?]#openspecies is finally here! i haven't fully fleshed out the lore, but so far this is what i have got. lunar elves is a true hermaphrodite species that looks very similar to your average human but have a longer average life of 170 years, and some known individuals living up to 210 years of age. they mature physically around 30 years of age, though similar to humans, they can bear children much younger than that. one of the more different aspect of lunar elves is their sleep cycle, the stay awake for 1-3 months and sleep for a month, though the longer the elf goes without sleep, the longer his sleep is, the higher his risk of dying. as sleep dying is very common among lunar elves who go over 2-3 years with no sleep. some groups of lunar elves adapted the human sleep cycle, and they have the lowest rates of sleep dying.
